Mufti of Xanthi Trampa celebrates the Night of Berat in Gencerli
Mufti of Xanthi Mustafa Trampa celebrated the Night of Berat in Gencerli, one of the lowland villages of Xanthi.
The following statements were made in the statement made by the Mufti's Office of Xanthi regarding the kandil event organised in the village of Gencerli
"On Saturday 24 February 2024, the Muftiate of Xanthi celebrated the Night of Berat, the herald of the blessed month of Ramadan, the sultan of the eleventh month, with great enthusiasm with a mevlid ceremony in Gencerli, one of the lowland villages of Inhanli (Topiros) Municipality. The Holy Qur'an recited by our teachers from Xanthi Mufti's Office Hymn Choir and the mawlid and hymns they recited were greatly appreciated by the congregation with great participation. At the end of the mawlid ceremony, Mustafa Trampa, Mufti of Xanthi, followed the meaningful prayer for this night. Then he made a short speech about the meaning and importance of this night and what needs to be done. Afterwards, he thanked especially the Vice Consul General of the Consulate General of the Republic of Türkiye in Komotini, Guven Bora, the Deputy of Xanthi Hüseyin Zeybek, the Vice President of the Province of Eastern Macedonian Thrace İrfan Hacıgene and the accompanying Assembly Members, the Vice President of the Municipality of Inhanlı (Topiros) Hüseyin Necipoğlu and the Assembly Members, the President of the Xanthi Turkish Union Ozan Ahmetoğlu, the President of the Western Thrace Minority University Graduates Association Dr. Hüseyin Baltacı, Deputy Chairman of the FEP Party Bahri Belço, Deputy Mufti of Xanthi Ahmet Hraloğlu and the religious officials, as well as the male and female congregation who filled the mosque to capacity, the young people who served, the board of trustees and the village imam Muzaffer İmam, congratulated the night and asked God Almighty to make it a fruitful and blessed night for everyone. After this short speech, the students of the Qur'an Course presented a bouquet of flowers to the guest of honour, Deputy Consul General of the Consulate General of the Republic of Türkiye in Komotini, Güven Bora, and took a photo with him. Afterwards, the night prayer was started. After the prayer, the congregation congratulated each other for the night and thus the Berat Night programme ended in an enthusiastic way."
Similar to the event in Gencerli, Berat Night was celebrated in many mosques of Xanthi by organising programmes.
