MP Ferhat submits a question about the closure of Attica Bank branch

SYRIZA Party Rodopi MP Özgür Ferhat reacted against the closure of the Attica Bank branch in the centre of Komotini.

"The Mitsotakis government, which has deliberately prevented the economy and development in the province of Rhodope, is finally watching the closure of bank branches and public services", said MP Ferhat and brought the issue to the agenda with a parliamentary question and asked the relevant ministers.

Özgür Ferhat, in his statement on the subject, stated the following:

"The Mitsotakis government, which deliberately prevents the economy and development in our region, Rhodope, has been watching the closure of bank branches and public services, and even paving the way for this situation from time to time.

Finally, we witnessed the closure of ATTICA Bank in the centre of Komotini, the transfer of its service circle to Alexandroupolis and the victimisation of thousands of citizens.

We see that every closed branch, public office, service area causes great damage to our regional economy and the necessary living conditions, and in this direction, we see that our Rhodope province is being directed towards rapid shrinkage and desertification.

As an MP for Rhodope, within the scope of our efforts to put a stop to this bad trend, I have brought the closure of the bank branch and the problems caused by this to the parliamentary agenda and invited the Minister of Economy and Development as well as the Minister of Labour to respond.

We are ready to make all interventions that will keep our Rhodope province alive and move it forward."
