Former Mufti of Xanthi Mehmet Emin AGA was commemorated with a commemoration programme organised by the Muftiate of Xanthi on the 17th anniversary of his death.

Within the framework of the commemoration programme organised by the Mufti's Office of Xanthi, firstly a mevlit was read for Mehmet Emin AGA at the Çınar Mosque in the Lower Neighbourhood of Xanthi and then a commemoration ceremony was held at his grave.

After the mawlid and prayer at the Çınar Mosque in the Lower Neighbourhood of Xanthi, pilaf and ayran were served to the participants.

After the ceremony at the mosque, a commemoration ceremony was held at the grave of Mehmet Emin Aga. Speaking firstly at the ceremony, Mustafa Trampa, Mufti of Xanthi, reminded that Mehmet Emin Aga made important struggles for the Muslim Turkish Minority of Western Thrace. Mufti Trampa stated that the late Mufti Aga left two important legacies to the Turks of Western Thrace, the first of which is the Qur'an Courses that continue to operate today. Mufti Trampa stated that in these Qur'an Courses, Traditional Morals are passed on to the children. Mufti Trampa stated that the other legacy left by the late Mufti AGA to the Turks of Western Thrace is the "morality of rebellion" which is identified with his struggle and that AGA's struggle for his rights, his upright stance and the determination, determination and democratic stance in this struggle also reveal the "morality of rebellion". He stated that AGA's stance in the struggle for rights represents its "morality of rebellion" and that it bequeathed this to the Turks of Western Thrace.

After Mufti Trampa, Musa Vidinli, former Deputy Governor of Xanthi took the floor and talked about his memories with the late Mehmet Emin Aga.

After Vidinli, Ozan Ahmetoğlu, President of Xanthi Turkish Union, Ahmet Kara, President of the Union of Western Thrace Councillors, Hüseyin Baltacı, President of the Western Thrace Minority University Graduates Association (WTMUGA) and Rıdvan Delihüseyin, Mayor of Mustafçova, made speeches.

Speaking at the ceremony organised for the deceased Mehmet Emin Aga, Consul General of Türkiye in Komotini Aykut Ünal said that they took Mehmet Emin Aga's legal struggle as an example during their youth years and that he got to know Western Thrace through Mehmet Emin Aga's struggle and that this struggle inspired many lawyers. Ünal emphasised that Mehmet Emin Aga's struggle is an example for unity and solidarity.

Lastly, Mustafa Aga, son of Mehmet Emin Aga, took the floor on behalf of the family and thanked all the participants.
