Iskece Turkish Union folk dancers perform at Edirne’s April 23 celebrations
FOLK DANCE GROUP JOINS CELEBRATIONS IN EDIRNE
The Iskece Turkish Union (ITB) Folk Dance Group participated in the April 23 National Sovereignty and Children’s Day celebrations organized by the Edirne Governorate. Alongside the Komotini Turkish Youth Union’s folk dancers, the team traveled to Edirne at the official invitation of the Governorate to represent Western Thrace’s cultural heritage during the festivities.
COLORFUL PARADE AND PERFORMANCE
Led by Tülin Hacıhalil and Gökhan Mustafa, the ITB team joined the celebratory parade, which started at the Edirne Governorate building and continued along the city’s central Saraçlar Street. Governor Yunus Sezer attended the event and watched the group’s performance, which drew significant applause from the audience for its vibrant and authentic presentation.
MEETING WITH GOVERNOR SEZER
Following their performance, members of the ITB Folk Dance Group had the opportunity to meet with Governor Yunus Sezer, marking a meaningful cultural exchange during a day dedicated to children and national pride.
