İskeçe treats to showcase local flavors during Old Town Festival
A special gastronomic evening celebrating the flavors, aromas and culinary traditions of İskeçe will take place on Monday, August 31, as part of the Old Town Festival 2026.
Organized under the name “İskeçe Treats,” the event aims to highlight the region’s gastronomic identity through traditional sweets, local delicacies and Greek coffee, offering residents and visitors an authentic taste of İskeçe’s culinary heritage.
The event is jointly organized by the Municipality of İskeçe, the İskeçe Chamber and the Federation of Professionals, Craftsmen and Merchants of İskeçe, as part of this year’s Old Town Festival. The festival is celebrating its 35th anniversary and has become one of the city’s major cultural institutions.
An evening dedicated to local gastronomy
“İskeçe Treats” will be held on Monday, August 31, 2026, at 8:30 p.m. at the Old Town Hall in the historic Old Town of İskeçe.
Residents and visitors are invited to attend an evening centered on local gastronomy and İskeçe’s longstanding tradition of sweets and traditional treats.
Traditional İskeçe sweets will be served to attendees alongside aromatic Greek coffee, bringing together local flavors, hospitality and cultural heritage in the distinctive setting of the city’s historic center.
Celebrating food as part of local heritage
The event adds a gastronomic dimension to the Old Town Festival, complementing the music and cultural activities taking place throughout the picturesque streets of İskeçe.
Local cuisine plays an important role in the area’s cultural heritage, while traditional sweets, homemade treats and Greek coffee have long been associated with everyday life and hospitality in the region.
