"I was shocked when I saw the video" – Kaşıkçı reflects on his new project

In an interview with Anadolu Agency (AA), Kaşıkçı discussed his recent project, revealing his surprise and admiration for the music video that accompanied it. He highlighted the ongoing migration issue in Edirne, where many immigrant families reside, noting that most people are somehow connected to the subject of migration.

Kaşıkçı explained that his project, which consists of both a book and a song, was completed with the addition of a music video. "My teacher, İlkay, said he would happily take on such a project, and I was thrilled. I had no idea what the result would be, but when he showed me the video he prepared, I was deeply affected. I was shocked. The reaction from those who watched it was the same. It was a video that reflected both the book and the song, expressing our emotions," Kaşıkçı said. He also mentioned that the project, titled "Beyond the River", was now complete with this significant touch.

The music video has drawn attention, with its narrative aligning with both the song's and the book's content.

Demiralay, who worked on the video, noted that Kaşıkçı's academic work on migration was now crowned with an artistic masterpiece. He explained that he had previously read the book and listened to the song, which led him to create a script for the video. "After handling the scripting part, we used available creative AI modules to design a video that was suitable for the geography and cultural setting. First, we created visuals, then turned them into animated sequences that matched the lyrics and the central theme of the book," Demiralay said.

As a member of a migration family, Demiralay expressed his pride in being part of the project.

He emphasized the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence technology and the impact it has had. "Artificial intelligence has become a technology that we can access within material and technological means. I created this music video on my own. Normally, creating a video like this would involve a lot of people, but creative AI modules are now capable of doing the work of many people. Though it may not be an extremely professional production, with better technical possibilities and more accessible technologies, we could develop this further," he concluded.
