Heavy rainfall blocked streams in Narlıköy
The rain that started at noon today in the Rhodope region and intensified in a short time caused problems in some settlements.
One of the places that experienced problems due to excessive rainfall was Narlıköy in Yassıköy Municipality.
The rainwater coming from the foothills of the Rhodope Mountains blocked the stream beds passing through the village in a short time.
Yassıköy Municipality took action in a short time to prevent water from overflowing out of the blocked stream beds and damaging the houses in the neighbourhood.
After consultation with Yassıköy Mayor Caner Imam and Deputy Mayor Mehmet Arifoğlu, who is responsible for Susurköy District, an agreement was made with a private company and the cleaning works were started in a short time with the construction equipment brought to the area.
Deputy Mayor Mehmet Arifoğlu, who closely followed the clean-up work carried out in the rain, briefed MİLLET on the situation in Narlıköy and Deputy Mayor Kubilay Manko Mehmet briefed MİLLET on the situation in Yassıköy.

Administrative Services Authorised Consultant Ercan Mümin closely followed the works carried out in Narlıköy.
The Mayor of Yassıköy, Mr Caner Imam, has been in frequent consultation with the deputy mayors to see how the clean-up work is progressing in the settlements to address the problems caused by the rain.
