The hatim enthusiasm in Xanthi started on Sunday 21 April with a magnificent hatim ceremony held in the village of Yassıören.

The traditional hatim ceremonies of the Qur'an Courses affiliated to the Muftiate of Xanthi started with the Yassıören hatim ceremony. The cognates flocked to the hatim ceremony organised for the students trained by the imam of Yassiören Mosque, the theologian Cavit Karabıyıklı.

The representatives of the Muslim Turks in Xanthi participated without exception and showed an example of unity and solidarity in Yassıören Hatim ceremony.

The recitation of the Qur'an and the poems recited by the students trained by Cavit Hoca were appreciated by the congregation.

Mustafa Trampa, Mufti of Xanthi, took the floor after the Hatim prayer and greeted the congregation. Mufti Trampa firstly congratulated the students. Mufti Trampa also congratulated the parents of the students and underlined that the religious officials in the region, especially Cavit hodja, are doing very good work and underlined that especially the parents have great duties in the upbringing of our children in their future lives.

After Mufti Trampa, Ozan Ahmetoğlu, President of the Xanthi Turkish Union, Hüseyin Baltacı, President of the Western Thrace Minority University Graduates Association, Ahmet Kurt, Mayor of Mustafçova, İrfan Hacıgene, Vice President of the State, Hüseyin Zeybek and Burhan Baran, MPs of Xanthi took the floor and congratulated the students, their parents and the teacher.

After the noon prayer, the guests were served traditional pilaf with meat and ayran.

After the Hatim ceremony, the guests visited Yassıören Education, Culture and Sports Association.
