Gümülcine Municipality announces support action for farmers
The Gümülcine Municipal Council held an extraordinary meeting on Wednesday to discuss institutional support for the “Demands of Farmers and Livestock Breeders.”
Following deliberations, the proposal submitted by Mayor Yannis Garanis was approved by a majority vote.
According to the decision, the central service departments of the Gümülcine Municipality will remain symbolically closed on Friday, December 5, 2025, between 10:00 and 13:00 in support of local farmers. Officials stated that care will be taken to ensure that essential services are not disrupted during this period.
Additionally, on the same day, members of the Municipal Council and municipal staff will visit the farmers’ protest site to show solidarity, listen to their concerns, and engage in direct communication.
