Green light for two energy investments in Rhodope
Two investments in the energy sector to be implemented in Rhodope have recently been approved by the Ministry of Energy and Environment.
The first concerns the creation of an energy storage unit within the administrative boundaries of the municipality of Maroneia-Sapes and the second concerns the creation of a new wind farm within the administrative boundaries of the municipality of Arrianon.
Energy storage unit at Iasi Farm More specifically with regard to the first investment, the environmental conditions and restrictions for the construction and operation of the project "Electricity Storage Unit through accumulators with a capacity of 187.00 MWel and an installed capacity of 412.80 MWel", to be installed at the location of Iasi Farm, in the Municipality of Maronia-Sapes, in the Municipality of Maronia-Sapes, Rhodope Region, were approved.
The project concerns the Installation of an Electricity Storage Station using batteries. It will operate as an independent unit which will cooperate with RES units in the region. The design of the plant involves the installation of 187 MW of installed capacity and 412.8 MWh of storage capacity. The project will take place on a parcel of land with a total area of 20,800.00 sq.m.
The Battery Electricity Storage Plant will operate as an independent unit connected to the Distribution Grid of DEDDIE or the Transmission System of ADMIE, which will potentially cooperate with RES plants in the region. New wind power plant in Fylliras DE As regards the second investment, environmental conditions and restrictions were approved for the construction and operation of the project "18MW Wind Power Plant (WPP) and accompanying works for the opening and improvement of existing roads and the construction of a medium voltage line for interconnection to the system, in the location "MEGALI RACHI", of the Municipal Unit of Fillyra, Municipality of Arrianon".
The proposed wind power plant consists of three wind turbines, of the indicative type Vestas V150/6.0MW, with a nominal power of 6MW each, with a three-bladed impeller, 150m diameter and a 105m high pylon. The total installed capacity of the plant is 18MW and the maximum power output is 18W. The station is developed in a polygon with a total area of 1137717,30 m2 .
