Great success from the İdadiye Minority Primary School Chess Team
The Gümülcine (Komotini) Idadiye Turkish Minority Primary School Chess Team achieved an important success.
İdadiye Primary School Chess Team, which showed a successful graphic in the competitions held in Rhodope, qualified to participate in the tournament to be held in Eastern Macedonia - Thrace Region.
The only minority primary school that participated in the Rhodope Province Inter-Primary School Chess Tournament held in Komotini, İdadiye Turkish Minority Primary School achieved great success.
15 students from the Idadiye Minority Primary School Chess Team took part in the tournament, in which approximately 250 students registered on a provincial basis and 178 students competed.
It was reported that 15 students were entitled to participate in the Eastern Macedonia - Thrace Region Chess Tournament to be held later, representing both İdadiye Primary School and Rhodope Province.
The students who ranked in the Idadiye Primary School Chess Team in the tournament are as follows:
- Rhodope Province First Prize, Gold Medal (2nd Grades): Ertuğrul Hacı Mehmet.
- Rhodope Girls Group First Prize, Gold medal and third place in its class (3rd grades): Firuze Huskoğlu.
- Rhodope Province Third Prize, Bronze medal (4th grades): Ataberk Molla Mümin.
Idadiye Primary School Parents' Association issued a statement on this succeess and said: “We congratulate all our students one by one. We would like to thank our parents who trusted us and our teacher Süha Mehmet, who contributed directly and voluntarily to the children's chess education and success.”
