Gökçepınar village in İskeçe unites “Hand in hand for Palestine”

A meaningful charity event was held in the village of Gökçepınar in İskeçe, symbolizing the Western Thrace Muslim Turkish community’s strong support for Gaza.

Under the theme “Hand in Hand for Palestine,” villagers came together in a spirit of generosity and solidarity.

A Strong Spirit of Charity

Organized jointly by the Gökçepınar Reading Club and the Children’s Mufti Office under the İskeçe Mufti Office, the event brought together villagers of all ages — men, women, youth, and children — who contributed wholeheartedly.

Stalls offering refreshments, handmade goods, and various solidarity items were set up, with all proceeds dedicated to Gaza.

İskeçe Mufti Mustafa Trampa expressed his heartfelt thanks during his address:

“The meaningful initiative by the Gökçepınar Reading Club and our Children’s Mufti Office has deeply moved us. Our village women, youth, and children worked with exceptional dedication. We are also grateful to our trustee board and religious officials for their contributions.”

A Continuation of a Longstanding Tradition of Aid

The event once again highlighted the deep-rooted humanitarian tradition of the Western Thrace Turkish Minority. Local charity efforts continue to reach not only the region but also oppressed communities around the world.

Millet News has frequently emphasized the long history of Western Thrace’s aid to Gaza. Efforts such as the Sacrifice Donation Campaign organized by the İskeçe Mufti Office and humanitarian relief missions by Çınar Association and IHH-UK have delivered hot meals and essential supplies to Gaza.
