Forest fire at the entrance of Xanthi

A large forest fire broke out around noon on Saturday in the wooded area surrounding the city of Xanthi.
The fire started near the cemeteries along the Şahin road, just outside of Xanthi. As the fire rapidly spread, thick smoke billowed from the area, visible from miles away, prompting immediate action from the local firefighting forces.
In response to the escalating situation, 30 firefighters, a team from the 7th E.M.O.D.E. (Special Forest Fire Response Unit), 10 fire trucks, 2 firefighting helicopters, and 3 water-bombing planes were quickly dispatched to the area.
