Narlıköy, a village in the Yassıköy Municipality of Rodop province, faced a severe flood disaster following heavy rains that began this afternoon, September 13, 2024.
Due to the intense downpour, the village’s bridges, streets, and drainage systems were overwhelmed, causing significant distress for the residents.
Streams running through Narlıköy, located at the foothills, quickly overflowed, flooding the Narlıköy-Yassıköy main road and covering the village streets.
Local police from the Yassıköy Police Station, regional officials responsible for Rodop, and Yassıköy Municipality authorities have been actively working on the ground to prevent further damage and ensure public safety.
The heavy rains have caused flooding in several villages in the Yaka region, with Narlıköy being one of the hardest hit.
