First Turkish female minority member elected to the board of directors

Sibel Mustafaoğlu, Head of the Rhodopi Center for Fight Against Substance Abuses and Mental Health, was elected as a member of the Board of Directors of the Greek Supreme Council for Fight Against Drugs, Prevention Against Addiction and Mental Health Centers.

Mustafaoğlu, who was elected for 4 years, became the first Western Thrace Turkish woman to be elected to the board of directors of this organization.


It is stated that the distribution of duties among the people elected to the Board of Directors will be made next week.

During her contacts in Athens, Mustafaoğlu also met with the chairman and executives of OKANA and had the opportunity to discuss the work and problems encountered in the Rhodopi province.

It was noted that OKANA officials will pay a working visit to Western Thrace next month.

Mustafaoğlu made the following statement in her private account on social media:

“I was elected to the Board of Directors at the General Assembly of Fight Against Drugs, Taking Precautions Against Addiction and Mental Health Centers, which took place in Athens on 11-12 February.
I am pleased to continue to serve this sensitive issue from a more centralized location from now on.”
