Fire Breaks Out Near Baldıran Village

A fire broke out near Baldıran village in the Maronya-Şapçı Municipality, rapidly spreading through the forested area.
The fire, which started around 2:00 PM today in the forested area above Baldıran village, quickly spread over a wide area. Local residents promptly alerted the Komotini Fire Department.
Firefighters arrived at the scene with two vehicles shortly after. Ground-based firefighting efforts began immediately to prevent the fire from reaching nearby livestock pens and spreading further.
In the following minutes, firefighting helicopters and planes also reached the area. Aerial firefighting efforts have been initiated to combat the blaze.
