Ferhat presents farmers' issues to Deputy Minister of Food

Ferhat attended the second meeting of the Fisheries, Aquaculture, and the Sea program held at a hotel in Alexandroupoli on Wednesday, November 20.
During the meeting, Ferhat had discussions with Deputy Minister Kellas and Secretary-General Stratakos, where he raised issues affecting farmers in the Rodopi region. He emphasized the critical need for compensating losses faced by tobacco farmers. Additionally, Ferhat highlighted the urgent challenges of livestock farmers, pointing out that many are financially strained, unable to cover rising feed costs, and have run out of patience after months of closure.
He also drew attention to infrastructure deficiencies, difficulties in marketing products, and the immediate necessity for economic support to sustain producers’ activities.
Concluding his remarks, Ferhat stressed the importance of addressing these demands swiftly, stating that meeting the needs of Rodopi’s farmers is essential for the survival of the region’s agricultural and livestock sectors.
