Edirne Governor Yunus Sezer pays visit to Western Thrace
Governor of Edirne Yunus Sezer, together with his wife Canan Sezer, made contacts in Komotini and Xanthi within the scope of his visit to Western Thrace.
Governor Sezer started his programme in Western Thrace from Komotini. Sezer firstly visited the Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Komotini, Aykut Ünal.
Edirne Governor Yunus Sezer was accompanied by İpsala District Governor Ömer Sevgili during his visit to Western Thrace.
The Governor of Edirne started his contacts with the minority organisations in Komotini by visiting İbrahim Şerif, President of the Advisory Board of the Turkish Minority of Western Thrace and Mufti of Komotini, in his office. Then he met with female compatriots working in non-governmental organisations at Komotini Turkish Youth Union.
Governor Sezer also visited the grave of the late Dr Sadık Ahmet and met with the Mayors of Kozlukebir, Yassıköy and Mustafçova.
Governor of Edirne Yunus Sezer met with the President of the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace Christodoulos Topsidis in Komotini. It was reported that the possibilities of co-operation between Edirne and the Region were discussed during the meeting.
After completing his contacts in Komotini, Edirne Governor Yunus Sezer travelled to Xanthi.
Governor Sezer visited Mufti of Xanthi Mustafa Trampa in his office and had a meeting with him and then visited Xanthi Turkish Union and met with the executives.
Governor Yunus Sezer was accompanied by Mr. Aykut Ünal, Consul General of Turkey in Komotini during his visits to Western Thrace.
