December youth gathering features MP Hüseyin Zeybek
The December session of the monthly "Youth Gatherings," organized by the Youth Branch of the Xanthi Turkish Union (İTB), took place on Tuesday, December 24, with significant participation. This month’s guest was Hüseyin Zeybek, a Member of Parliament for Xanthi’s New Left Party.
The event began with a speech by Önder Şabanoğlu, Advisor for Education and Youth Affairs at İTB. Following a welcome address by İTB President Ozan Ahmetoğlu, the panel discussion was moderated by Youth Branch Vice President Sudem Ömer.
In his talk, MP Hüseyin Zeybek focused on “Minority Rights and the Struggles Undertaken”. He shared his journey from his student years to his political career, emphasizing how his experiences at the Xanthi Turkish Union shaped his character:
"The Xanthi Turkish Union was like a second home for us. Seeing that it holds the same significance for you young people today brings me great happiness," Zeybek remarked.
He also addressed the issues facing the minority community, particularly in education. Zeybek informed attendees about recent parliamentary developments concerning the request for a new school building for the Xanthi Minority High School.
Encouraging the youth, Zeybek stated:
"Never abandon your values or those of your community. Always work together, have beliefs you stand by, and prioritize hard work. Success only comes through effort and dedication."
After his speech, Zeybek answered questions from the young attendees. The event concluded with an engaging discussion.
