Consul General Ünal pays visit to Gökçepınar village of Xanthi
Consul General Ünal was welcomed in Gökçepınar by Mustafa Trampa, the Mufti of Xanthi, Erkan Azizoğlu, the village imam and the kinsmen from Gökçepınar.
Mufti's Office of Xanthi shared the details of the visit in Gökçepınar.
In the statement made by the Mufti's Office of Xanthi the following statements were made:
"On 26 January 2024, Friday, our Virtuous Mufti Mustafa TRAMPA and the accompanying delegation met with the congregation at Gökçepınar Mosque for Friday Prayer. In this meeting, the Consul General of the Republic of Türkiye in Komotini Mr. Aykut ÜNAL and Vice Consul Mr Baris ÇULHA took part as guests of honour and a festive atmosphere was experienced. Our Mufti, who gave a sermon before the Friday prayer, focused on the current issue of 29 January, the Day of National Resistance and Social Solidarity, and emphasised that we can only protect our Muslimness and Turkishness by protecting our unity and solidarity. After the sermon, Erkan AZİZOĞLU, the Village Imam, introduced our Consul General, who visited Gökçepınar village for the first time today as the guest of honour, to the congregation, and on behalf of the people of the village, expressed their satisfaction and gratitude to him for his visit to their village and gave him a bouquet of flowers. Our Consul General thanked for this warm welcome and made a short greeting speech to the people of the village and expressed his satisfaction.
After the Friday prayer, the guests embraced with the people in the mosque and took souvenir photos. Afterwards, the visit to Gökçepınar ended after a nice chat in the village square with coffee houses.
During the visit to Gökçepınar, besides Mufti, Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Komotini Mr. Aykut ÜNAL and Vice Consul Mr. Barış ÇULHA, MP Hüseyin ZEYBEK, Mayor of Mustafçova Ahmet KURT, Deputy Mayors of Mustafçova Mithat KABUR and Sami PALİKAR, President of Xanthi Turkish Union Ozan AHMETOĞLU, President of Western Thrace Minority University Graduates Association Dr. Hüseyin BALTACI, FEP Party Vice President Bahri BELÇO also took part."
