Cihat Yaycı, the inventor of the Blue Homeland Doctrine, draws attention to the fire in Western Thrace
Retired Admiral Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cihat Yaycı, who has made a name for himself with the "Blue Homeland Doctrine", which aims to strengthen Türkiye's maritime jurisdiction in recent years, made important statements about the fire in Western Thrace. Yaycı, who participated in the programme on the YouTube channel of famous journalist Fatih Altaylı, evaluated Türkiye's change of attitude in the Blue Homeland Doctrine.
Yaycı stated that the Greek public opinion criticised the US for taking measures only for its own region and not taking any intervention in the rest of the region, despite establishing a base in the Alexandroupoli region. Yaycı also commented on the fire in Western Thrace and emphasised that "the worst thing is the burning of Turkish villages".
Fatih Altaylı, on the other hand, described the calls for help sent to him by Western Thrace Turks about the fire as "countless" and met this situation with great sadness.
