The change to shift education system after two years at the Xanthi Minority High School caused a great reaction from the students and parents. On the first day of the school, the parents decided to take action to find a solution for the problem.

The decision to start shifts in the morning and afternoon due to the high number of students in Xanthi Minority High School caused reactions. According to the system, students in Xanthi city center and nearby villages will go to school in the afternoon. Students from other villages will do lessons in the morning. On the first day of the opening of the school, the parents of the students who met with the school manager Selçuk Fehmi expressed their complaints.

After meeting with the school manager, the parents who occupied the manager's room for a while evaluated the situation by meeting with the Board of Directors and the Parent-Teacher Association. It was decided to held an action on Thursday, 12 September at 7:45 am in front of the school.
