Bursa Osmangazi Municipality pays tribute to Dr. Sadık Ahmet
Osmangazi Mayor Mustafa Dündar pointed out that the late Sadık Ahmet was the leader of Western Thrace Turks and said: "Societies have leaders and this leader is important. Dr Sadık Ahmet is also the leader of the Western Thrace Turkish community. He raised the problems of Western Thrace Turks both in Greece and abroad and sought solutions to these problems. In 1995, Dr Sadık Ahmet, whom we lost in a tragic traffic accident, was embraced by the Turkish people and his name was always kept alive. As Bursa, we keep his name alive in streets, avenues and parks. As Osmangazi Municipality, we have reorganised the recreational park named after the deceased Sadık Ahmet and put it into the service of our citizens. May it be auspicious."
Sait Ergen, Headman of Koğukçınar Neighbourhood, stated that Sadık Ahmet's name was given to the park after the street in the neighbourhood and thanked Mayor Dündar. Western Thrace Turks Solidarity Association Bursa Branch President Hasan Karaömer and BATISİAD President Ahmet Er also thanked Mayor Dündar and municipality employees for their loyalty to Dr Sadık Ahmet.
