BTTÖB organises a Teachers' Day event on 24 November
24 November 2023 Friday evening at 18.The event was attended by Consul General of Turkey in Komotini Aykut Unal, his wife İlayda Unal, Vice Consuls Baris Çulha, Subutay Koç, President of the Advisory Board of the Turkish Minority of Western Thrace and Mufti of Komotini İbrahim Şerif, Mufti of Xanthi Mustafa Trampa, President of the FEP Party Çiğdem Asafoğlu, Independent MP for Xanthi Hüseyin Zeybek, Independent MP for Rodopi Özgür Ferhat, President of ITB Ozan Ahmetoğlu, President of the Union of Western Thrace Minority Schools Councillors Ahmet Kara, President of GTGB Sedat Hasan, President of BAKEŞ Hüseyin Bostancı and Ali Alioğlu representing WTMUGA, Western Thrace and contingent teachers who teach in the minority Xanthi Muzaffer Salihoğlu Minority Secondary School and High School and Komotini Celal Bayar Minority Secondary School and High School and retired teachers who are members of BTTBD attended.
As the host, BTTÖB President Aydın Ahmet and members of the board of directors hosted the members of the protocol and other guests in the most beautiful way.
The event started with a minute of silence for all the teachers who have passed away, especially the Chief Teacher Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.
Then BTTÖB President Aydın Ahmet greeted the participants and made a speech indicating the meaning and importance of the day.
In the continuation of the programme, İbrahim Şerif, Mufti of Komotini and Aykut Ünal, Consul General of Turkey in Komotini, addressed the participants and congratulated them on 24 November Teachers' Day.
After the speeches, Asel Duban read the poem "My Teacher". Afterwards, the Turkish Art Music Friends Association Choir took the stage and gave a concert consisting of songs of music to the participants.
At the end of the programme, the Folk Dances team of Komotini Turkish Youth Union under the direction of Erkan Demiroğulları took the stage and performed dances.
Finally, the folk dances team of Xanthi Turkish Union under the direction of Gökhan Mustafa and Tülin Hacıhalil took the stage.
