Blood pressure and diabetes measurements made to the residents of Semetli village.

With the participation of Gümülcine Municipality Deputy Mayor for Social Affairs and Solidarity Yannis Murtidis, Council Member Mesut Mehmet and Dereköy Reeve Dora Kontopulos, on Thursday morning, 23 March, with the help of the "First Aid to Home" program employees of the municipality, the residents of the village were informed about blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and diabetes.

Village residents expressed their satisfaction with the resumption of these health services, which had stopped during the pandemic process, to the municipal authorities.

As many village residents cannot easily move to Komotini, the municipality plans to carry out annual measurements. In some cases, for example, when they are bedridden or old, they go to homes for measurements.

Village residents who participated in the tests were informed about the results. Municipality administrators evaluated with nurses whether a doctor's intervention was necessary for any patient according to the results.

In the statement made by the municipality, it was announced that the health event in the village of Semetli will be held both in Dereköy and in Yanıkköy (Nimfea), the closest settlement to the Bulgarian border, in the coming period.

Dereköy Headman Dora Kondopoulos stated that they will organize activities for mothers in Semetli and Dereköy on May 14, Mother's Day, which will be celebrated this year.
