Berat Night program held at Yenimahalle Mosque
The Muslim community in Gümülcine gathered at Yenimahalle Mosque to observe the sacred night of Berat Kandili with a special program.
On the evening of Thursday, February 13, the Gümülcine Muftiate organized Mevlid programs in various mosques across the Rhodope and Evros regions in honor of Berat Kandili. One of the key locations for these events was Yenimahalle Mosque in Gümülcine.
The program began with the congregation performing the Isha prayer together. Following the prayer, Mufti of Gümülcine, İbrahim Şerif, delivered a sermon, emphasizing the significance of the blessed three months and the spiritual value of Berat Kandili.
As the event continued, religious officials affiliated with the Gümülcine Muftiate recited verses from the Qur’an (Ashr al-Sharif), hymns (qasidas), and the Mevlid-i Sharif. The closing prayer was led by Mufti İbrahim Şerif.
At the end of the program, attendees were offered cakes and fruit juices, provided by generous donors, as they left the mosque.
