Alexandroupoli: New judicial map and delays in justice highlighted at National Lawyers' Conference
The event was attended by Minister of Justice Giorgos Floridis and Deputy Minister Ioannis Bougas.
The conference, titled "From the Law Practice We Live to the Law Practice We Deserve," brought together representatives from the legal, political, and local government spheres, alongside a large number of lawyers.
Zacharoula Tsirtsidou, President of the Alexandroupoli Bar Association, welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of lawyers in defending democracy and upholding individual and social rights. She also expressed satisfaction with the Justice Minister’s announcement of the construction of a new courthouse in Alexandroupoli.
Dimitris Vervesos, President of the General Assembly of Greek Bar Associations, criticized the implementation of the new judicial map. He highlighted the disorganization, delays, and legal insecurity resulting from its introduction, noting that without proper digitalization and infrastructure, the reform has created more problems than it solved.
The opening ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including the Minister and Deputy Minister of Justice, as well as representatives from various political parties and judicial bodies.
