Advisory Board condemns the insult to Dr. Sadık Ahmet
The Consultative Committee of the Turkish Minority of Western Thrace (BTTADK) issued a written statement condemning the ultra-nationalist Spartans Party MP Vasilis Stigas for his insulting statements against the late Dr. Sadik Ahmet.
BTTADK stated that the statements of Stigas against the late Dr. Sadık Ahmet, who shouted to the whole world that he was a Turk, did not fit into neither moral nor ethical values and said: "We invite MP Stigas to respect the cherished memory of Dr. Sadık Ahmet."
In the written statement issued by the Advisory Board of the Turkish Minority of Western Thrace on Tuesday, 19 December, the following statements were made
"We strongly condemn Vasilis Stigas, MP of the far-right Spartans Party, who insulted the cherished memory of the late leader of the Turkish Minority of Western Thrace Dr Sadık Ahmet by exceeding the limits of decency and uttered ugly words.
So much so that this insolence against the person of our late leader Dr. Sadık Ahmet, who shouted to the whole of Greece that he was a Turk by getting the support of the people to defend the rights of the minority from the rostrum where he hurled insults for the sake of political rent, is unacceptable.
28 years after the death of a person who died 28 years ago, we would like to state that these words do not fit neither morality nor ethical values. We invite MP Stigas to respect the cherished memory of Dr Sadık Ahmet, a man of the cause, whom we lost in a tragic and suspicious traffic accident."
