Advisory Board condemns attack on Witten Turkish Community Association

The Western Thrace Turkish Minority Advisory Board has strongly condemned the attack carried out on the night of April 19 against the Witten Western Thrace Turks Solidarity and Assistance Association, a member organization of the Federation of Western Thrace Turks in Europe.

In an official statement released on Monday, the Advisory Board expressed solidarity with the association’s leadership and members, as well as with the broader Turkish community living in the region. The statement extended well-wishes to those affected and emphasized the importance of unity in the face of such incidents.

“Provocative acts targeting the unity and cohesion of our community in Germany will not achieve their intended goals,” the statement read. “We expect the competent authorities to swiftly identify the perpetrators and bring them to justice.”

The Board also underlined the need for preventive measures to ensure that similar attacks do not occur in the future, stressing that the safety and social harmony of minority communities must be protected.

The incident has raised concerns among diaspora groups and community leaders, who have called for vigilance and stronger safeguards against hate-motivated actions.
