21st Cherry Festival ended with concerts
The 21st Cherry Festival organized by Yassıköy (Iasmos) Municipality has ended. Thousands of cognates from different villages of Western Thrace attended the three-day festival.
The Cherry Festival, which has been organized for years in Bulatköy, “Yaka region” of Rhodope province to promote the cherry of the region, took place this year as well.
Organized by Yassıköy Municipality between 9-11, June the 21st Cherry Festival attracted great interest from the citizens as in previous years.
The program of the 21st Cherry Festival, which lasted for three days, started with the opening speeches on Friday, June 9, 2023. Later, Crusta İasmos group, Turkish Classical Music Chorus, Ortacı Akrites group and Grup Live took the stage, respectively.
On Saturday, June 10th, the band Restore first took the stage. Then, Greek artist Yorgos Ksantiotis took the stage and gave a concert to the participants.
On the evening of Sunday, June 11, thousands of people attending the festival, the artist of our region Barış Tükeniş and the famous singer Yusuf Güney from Türkiye gave a concert.
During the three-day festival, cherry growers in the region sold hundreds of kilos of cherries.
