15-Year-Old Deniz laid to rest amid tears after tragic traffic accident
Great sorrow envelops Xanthi following a traffic accident that claimed the lives of two beloved individuals yesterday.
The traffic accident occurred at an intersection near the village of Kalfalar (Mirodato), resulting in the death of two kinsmen.
Deniz, aged 15, who died in the accident, was buried today at Aşağı Mahalle Cemetery following the funeral prayer held at Çınar Mosque after the afternoon prayer.
Xanthi Mufti Mustafa Trampa led the funeral prayer at Çınar Mosque. Speaking to the congregation afterwards, Mufti Trampa said, "The tragic accident has deeply saddened us all. May Allah grant patience to Deniz's family. On this occasion, Deputy Consul Subutay Koç, representing the Consulate General of the Republic of Türkiye in Komotini, extends his condolences to the grieving family and all Muslim Turks of Xanthi. Today, we are praying over Deniz's funeral with this enormous crowd, and tomorrow, after the afternoon prayer, we will pray over our brother Irfan, who also passed away in the accident. Deniz is now in paradise, waiting for her parents. Our Prophet (peace be upon him) gives this good news. It is important that we remain patient in the face of such calamities. May Allah treat those who passed away in the accident with mercy and grant patience to the grieving families. May He also grant a speedy recovery to the injured."
After his speech, Mufti Mustafa Trampa asked the congregation to give their blessings to Deniz. Thousands of attendees at the funeral could not hold back their tears. Deniz's body was then taken to Xanthi's Aşağı Mahalle Cemetery for burial.
In addition to Mufti Mustafa Trampa, the funeral ceremony was attended by Deputy Consul Subutay Koç representing the Consulate General of the Republic of Türkiye in Komotini, Xanthi MP Hüseyin Zeybek, Mustafçova Mayor Ahmet Kurt, Regional and Municipal Council Members, and many elected representatives.
