Türkiye promotes top tourism destinations at event in Athens

The Turkish Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA) hosted a promotional event in Athens, Greece, where it introduced Turkey’s major tourism destinations to industry professionals. The event featured specially prepared videos highlighting Istanbul, Cappadocia, and the Aegean and Black Sea regions, drawing attention to the country’s diverse travel offerings.
CULTURAL COLLABORATION AND SHARED OPPORTUNITIES
Speaking at the event, Veli Aydın, Culture and Tourism Counsellor at the Turkish Embassy in Athens, emphasized Turkey’s aim to deepen tourism collaboration with Greece. Turkish Ambassador to Greece, Çağatay Erciyes, echoed this sentiment, stating that the two countries should focus on complementing rather than competing with each other in the tourism sector. “By combining our strengths, we can create far more attractive travel experiences and draw visitors from across the globe,” he said.
Müberra Eresin, President of the Turkish Hoteliers Federation, said the gathering aimed to enhance cooperation between tourism representatives in Turkey and Greece. She noted that stronger collaboration would benefit both nations.
SHARED DESTINATIONS, SHARED PROFITS
Lisandros Tsilidis, President of the Federation of Hellenic Associations of Tourist and Travel Agencies, highlighted the potential of Greece and Turkey to be marketed as a joint destination, describing it as a promising opportunity for the industry.
Zeynep Üçok Çelikağ, TGA’s Country Marketing Director, presented a series of videos featuring Turkey’s key tourist routes. She emphasized the country’s vast diversity of destinations, offering rich and varied travel experiences to global visitors.
