President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in a press conference, stated that Türkiye has completed an election process that strengthens its democracy, and he wished success for the elections, which witnessed many firsts in Turkish history.
Pointing out that Türkiye did not only hold elections on May 14th and May 28th but also decided on the future of the next century, Erdoğan emphasized that with the will of the people, Türkiye has also embraced its independence and future. He highlighted that the Republic of Türkiye, with its tradition of statehood spanning over 2200 years and its national consciousness that exceeds 1000 years, will continue to flow in its own course with a culture of coexistence that extends through centuries.
Erdoğan emphasized that it has once again been understood that no power can change the course of the river that has passionately made Anatolian lands flourish for 1000 years, stating:
"Türkiye is stronger today than ever before. Our democracy is stronger than ever. Our future is brighter compared to before May 28th. I thank each of the more than 54 million citizens who reflected their choices in the ballot box through democratic means in the May 14th and May 28th elections. I also congratulate our brothers and sisters abroad for fulfilling their responsibilities towards our country in both elections. I express my gratitude especially to the 27 million 835 thousand citizens who have once again deemed me worthy of the Presidency. I would like to thank our partners in the People's Alliance for their support.
I express my gratitude once again to the heads of state and government who honored us by attending our inauguration ceremony and sharing our joy. I am pleased to see that our brothers and sisters who stood by us in our difficult days have not abandoned us in our happy days either. We will continue to walk shoulder to shoulder with our brothers in the Turkic Republics and our friends from all corners of the world."
Erdoğan stressed that they will not disappoint anyone who places their hope in Turkey's rise and strengthening, and they are fortunate to have received the vote of confidence from the people twice in a span of 14 days.
"They have already engraved their names in history"
Expressing their pride in receiving the support of nearly 28 million citizens in the elections, Erdoğan said, "We also know very well that all of this imposes a great responsibility on us. We are aware that we carry the hopes of not only 85 million citizens but also the prayers of millions." Erdoğan continued by saying, "Just as we have not tarnished the trust of the people until today, we will protect this trust at all costs in the future." He further stated:
"In line with the principles I have expressed during our inauguration ceremony, we will work without paying attention to obstacles and without being discouraged in the face of difficulties for the unity, solidarity, brotherhood, prosperity, and well-being of the entire Turkish nation. We will serve all of Turkey as the President of the Republic. I would like to once again thank the former cabinet members with whom we have worked together, solved numerous problems together, and overcome many challenges together. I wish success to our colleagues who will continue to serve our country as members of the 28th term parliament. These colleagues have already engraved their names in history as the cabinet members of the Presidential Government System's first term. May God be pleased with all our former cabinet members."
"Congratulations to the new cabinet"
"Now, I would like to share with you the new cabinet members with whom we will walk together towards achieving our Türkiye Century goals," said Erdoğan, announcing the new Cabinet as follows:
