With the latest decision taken by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), the high school equivalence certificate requirement for foreign students to enrol in universities in Türkiye has been abolished.

With this decision numbered E-95916564-720-55519 and dated 18.08.2023, foreign students will now be able to enrol in universities without the obligation to submit a high school equivalency certificate. This decision is considered as an important step for international students aiming to receive higher education in Türkiye.

With this development, various universities in Türkiye will offer an easier application process in order to attract more foreign students and encourage international student mobility. This decision by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) represents an important step towards the country becoming an international centre of attraction in the education sector.
