YTB announce Turkish Language Program for Public Officials and Academicians
Under this program, selected candidates will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the rich Turkish language and culture while receiving various benefits. The 8 month program covers accommodation expenses and monthly stipends of 7,000 TRY to support participants during their stay. Additionally, round-trip airfare tickets will be provided to ensure their smooth travel arrangements.
To be eligible for the program, public officials should have a minimum of three years of relevant work experience and preferably hold a master's or PhD degree. Researchers and scientists must be currently employed at a university or research center and either have completed or be pursuing a doctoral degree. Preference will be given to those working on subjects related to Türkiye in the field of social sciences. English proficiency, particularly in speaking and listening, is required, while basic knowledge of Turkish at a beginner level is preferred. Candidates should not be Turkish citizens, reside in Türkiye, be over 40 years old, or have previously participated in other Türkiye Scholarship programs. Spouses and families are not allowed to accompany the participants.
The application and registration process will be conducted exclusively online through the official website tbbs.turkiyeburslari.gov.tr. Candidates are required to create an account using a valid email address and fill in their personal and educational information, work experiences, and other relevant details. The deadline for submission is August 14, 2023. Shortlisted candidates will undergo online interviews, and all applicants will be informed of their application results through email and the application system.
Participants accepted into the program will receive language training for eight months at the Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University Language Center. The course will cover Turkish education starting from the beginner level (A1). Successful completion of course exams entitles participants to receive a B2 training certificate. Regular attendance of at least 80% of classes each month is mandatory. Failure to meet attendance or exam requirements may result in the suspension of the scholarship.
The KATİP program also includes weekly seminars led by expert academics in various fields such as international relations, history, regional studies, and art. These seminars provide participants with a comprehensive education and a deeper understanding of the world around them.
In addition, cultural trips will be organized to allow participants to explore Türkiye's rich cultural and historical heritage. These trips offer a unique opportunity to experience Türkiye's vibrant traditions and landmarks.
Furthermore, KATİP participants will have the chance to visit both public and private institutions in Türkiye through organized institutional visits. These visits aim to provide valuable insights into Türkiye's governance structures and promote professional networking opportunities.
Candidates are required to submit several documents, including a valid passport or ID, a recent photograph, transcripts, diploma, a letter of intent, and documents confirming employment and authorization to participate in the scholarship program.
