Spain's 2026 FIFA World Cup triumph was accompanied by a sharp rise in racist and Islamophobic hate speech online, with teenage football star Lamine Yamal emerging as one of the main targets, according to Spain's Observatory on Racism and Xenophobia (OBERAXE).
