Tournament to be organised in Chios with 4 women's volleyball teams from Türkiye and Greece
At the promotional meeting held in Izmir, it was announced that 4 women's volleyball teams from Türkiye and Greece will participate in the volleyball tournament to be organised in Chios.
The meeting was held at the International Press Centre of the Izmir Journalists Association and attended by the Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Cemil Tugay, Consul General of Greece in Izmir Alexandros Konstas, Deputy Mayor of Chios Georgios Christakis and club presidents.
Delivering a speech at the meeting, Mayor Cemil Tugay stated that there are very close relations and friendships between Chios and Izmir and that they are pleased to be a part of this organisation.
Alexandros Konstas, Consul General of Greece in Izmir, stated that the tournament was an organisation that brought the two peoples together and that the development and increase in the number of these initiatives would contribute to both countries.
Georgios Christakis, Deputy Mayor of Chios Island, stated that Chios and Izmir support each other in terms of tourism and that they will develop this in the field of sports and said, "It will be a very different experience for our volleyball girls, I am very happy."
Karsiyaka and Altay, AS Nireas Kardamylon and Sporting Kambochora women's volleyball teams from Chios Island will compete in the tournament to be held at the Central Sports Hall in Chios on 10-12 May.
