Panathinaikos defeats Olympiacos, leads 1–0 in finals

Panathinaikos BC took a 1–0 lead in the Greek Basketball Championship Finals, defeating rivals Olympiacos BC 80–68 on Friday night at the OAKA stadium, maintaining home-court advantage in the best-of-five series.
The Greens controlled most of the game, leading in three of four quarters and finishing with 50.8% shooting accuracy, compared to 42.2% for Olympiacos. Rebounds were nearly even, with Panathinaikos grabbing 36 and Olympiacos 37.
Jerian Grant led the winners with 17 points, while Kendrick Nunn added 14 points and 6 assists. Omer Yurtseven chipped in with 12 points and 7 rebounds.
For Olympiacos, Sasha Vezenkov stood out with a 20-point, 10-rebound performance, and Evan Fournier scored 12 points.
Game 2 is scheduled for Sunday night, once again at OAKA.
