Koxenoglou elected to World Leagues Board

Deputy President of Super League Greece Katia Koxenoglou has been elected to the Board of the World Leagues Association (WLA), which represents the world’s leading football leagues. Her election took place on Friday during the WLA’s Annual Meeting in Greece.

Speaking to ANA-MPA, Koxenoglou said her election reflects Super League Greece’s commitment to becoming more outward-looking, professionally organized, and active in international football bodies. She noted that, through this role, the Greek league will now participate more directly in global decision-making.

Koxenoglou expressed her happiness at the distinction and added she was proud to be the only woman on the WLA Board. She also praised Super League staff for the excellent organization of the Athens meetings and the warm Greek hospitality shown to international delegates.

During the WLA discussions, Super League Greece emphasized the importance of national leagues in global football and expressed interest in taking part in decisions on issues such as the international match calendar and player release rules. Koxenoglou confirmed that the WLA has requested a meeting with FIFA to be included more actively in future decision-making.
