Davide Calabria signs with Panathinaikos on three-year deal
Panathinaikos FC has announced the signing of Davide Calabria, long-time AC Milan captain and Italian international. The 28-year-old right back penned a three-year contract, becoming the Greens’ seventh addition for the new season.
Calabria brings with him extensive experience, having made nearly 250 appearances for AC Milan, where he also wore the captain’s armband. Born in Brescia in 1996, he joined Milan’s academy at the age of 11 and debuted for the senior team shortly after turning 18, at the end of the 2014–15 season. From 2022, he served as club captain, leading the Rossoneri until his departure in early 2025.
During his Milan career, Calabria lifted one Serie A title and two Super Cups. Earlier this year, following a managerial change, he was loaned to Bologna, where he won the Coppa Italia—defeating Milan in the final. At the international level, he has featured seven times for Italy’s senior national team, in addition to representing his country across all youth categories.
With this signing, Panathinaikos secures a seasoned defender with leadership qualities and top-level European experience.
