Aspida Xanthis makes history – promoted to A2 Women’s National Basketball League!
In a historic season filled with passion, discipline, and fighting spirit, the women’s basketball team of Aspida Xanthi earned a well-deserved promotion to the A2 Women’s National League, writing a new golden chapter in the club’s legacy.
Led by coach Kara Ahmet Nedim, Aspida first clinched the EKASAMATH regional championship, and then stormed through the promotion tournament with a perfect 6-0 record.
The crowning moment came in the final game, where Aspida dominated Koupa Kilkis with a resounding 82–45 victory, finishing the season undefeated and in full control.
The promotion celebration took place on Sunday afternoon, with players, coaches, fans, and supporters coming together to share the joy.
The trophy was presented by Mr. Anastasios Tarenidis, Deputy Mayor for Culture and Sports of the Municipality of Xanthi, while the emotional celebrations that followed reflected the significance of this outstanding achievement.
But this promotion is more than a reward—it’s a new challenge. Aspida Xanthi now looks forward, staying true to its philosophy of teamwork, development of women’s basketball, and proudly representing the city at a national level.
