Velopoulos proposes inviting Elon Musk to address Greek Parliament

Kyriakos Velopoulos, leader of the opposition party Greek Solution, has proposed inviting American entrepreneur Elon Musk to speak at the Greek Parliament.

In a letter addressed to Speaker Konstantinos Tasoulas, Velopoulos highlighted Musk’s significance as the owner of the social media platform X and his potential role in the new U.S. administration.

Velopoulos praised Musk as a champion of "freedom of speech and expression, which are the essence of democracy." He argued that inviting Musk to address the Parliament would be “of national benefit” and would position Greece, the birthplace of democracy, as a global advocate for its fundamental principles.

Referring to Musk’s past comments on Greece’s demographic challenges, including its aging and shrinking population, Velopoulos emphasized the entrepreneur’s groundbreaking contributions to new technologies, artificial intelligence, and satellite communications. He suggested that Musk’s innovations could offer promising opportunities for national collaboration.

Velopoulos also sent a copy of his letter to Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, party leaders, and members of Parliament. The proposal has sparked discussion about the potential impact of Musk’s involvement in Greece’s public discourse.
