According to judicial documents forwarded by Turkish authorities, the attempted murder took place in mid-April in Istanbul and is attributed to members of a group known as “Kirve.”

Two individuals, said to be the direct perpetrators, are accused of opening fire from a motorcycle at a vehicle driven by the intended victim, leaving him injured.

The motorcycle reportedly belonged to the 21-year-old suspect, who is alleged to have lent it to the perpetrators for the attack.

The suspect denies any involvement in the incident, claiming that he is being targeted for his political beliefs. He also stated that he has applied for asylum in Greece.

He appeared before a Thessaloniki appeals court prosecutor on Wednesday morning, where he formally opposed his extradition to Turkiye.

The final decision on the extradition request will be made by the competent Judicial Council in the coming period. Until then, the suspect remains in custody.
