A Turkish citizen lost his life as a result of the fire allegedly opened by Greece in the Adasarhanlı village of Edirne's Meriç district.
According to the information received, Mehmet Durgun (43) and Süleyman Şener (60) from the village residents went to the banks of the Meriç River, which forms the border line.
As a result of the fire allegedly opened by Greece, Mehmet Durgun was shot in the face and died at the scene.
Süleyman Şener came to the village center after the shooting and reported the incident.
Durgun's body was taken to Meriç State Hospital morgue.
Meriç District Governor İlyas Öztürk also came to the scene and received information.
Adasarhanlı Village Headman Emrullah Özgün told reporters in the village that the incident occurred when Durgun and Şener went to sit by the Meriç River.
