The Turk who was arrested for the fires on Mount Aegaleo is a Gulenist

A Turkish Gulen supporter was the arsonist arrested earlier for the Mt Aegaleo fire.
According to the information, the 33-year-old was brought in a few weeks ago because he was spotted moving suspiciously around the Israeli embassy.
Sources state that the perpetrator is 33 years old and has an Asylum card. According to information, the 33-year-old entered our country on April 4, 2024 from Evros. He declares to be a professor of higher education and with a history of touring European countries and mainly Finland.
No asylum request in another European country has arisen from Eurodac and, furthermore, no asylum decision has been issued.
It is noted that Turks who enter from Evros receive an asylum card for one year.
"Three times this month there were fires on Mount Aegaleo. All three firefighters caught the fire before it spread. Today, however, the guilty arsonist, a Turkish national, was arrested, who confessed to his criminal act. He will be brought to justice under the new law. We have said it many times: We will be merciless with the arsonists," stressed the Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, Vassilis Kikilias, in his post.
Today's fire in Aspropyrgos was contained in 20 minutes
A fire broke out early at noon on Sunday in a forest area, in the regional area of Aigaleo, in Aspropyrgos, Attica, which was contained within a short period of time.
According to the information provided by the Fire Department, 43 firefighters were mobilized for the extinguishing, with 2 groups of pedestrian units, 9 vehicles and a helicopter, which made drops from the air.
Sources say that the fire, which was heading towards the mountain without threatening any settlement, was contained within 20 minutes.
