Tax filing deadline extended in Greece
Greek authorities have extended the deadline for submitting income tax returns for both individuals and legal entities until Monday, July 21, following requests from the Economic Chamber of Greece and technical difficulties experienced in the online filing system during peak periods.
According to the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE), more than 313,000 corporate tax returns and over 6.4 million individual tax returns had already been submitted before the extension was announced. Officials noted that the remaining volume of declarations could be processed smoothly within the additional timeframe.
AADE said the extension was granted to facilitate taxpayers and accounting professionals after delays were reported in the electronic filing platform, particularly during periods of heavy system traffic.
Tax authorities encouraged taxpayers to complete their filings before the new deadline to avoid last-minute congestion and ensure the process is finalized without further complications.
