Resignations come one after another in Pleusi Eleutherias Party!

The Pleusi Eleutherias (Freedom Cruise) Party, headed by Zoi Konstandopoulou, is being shaken by resignations.

Following Mihalis Hurdakis, MP for the First District of Thessaloniki, who was expelled from the parliamentary group by party president Zoi Konstandopoulou about two weeks ago, yesterday it was announced that Areti Papaioannou, MP for the Second District of Thessaloniki, has also resigned from the party.

Mihalis Hurdakis, MP for the First District of Thessaloniki, who had been expelled from the party, had been asked to resign as MP and hand over his seat to the party. However, Hurdakis announced that he would never resign from the parliament and would continue his duty as an independent MP.

Areti Papaioannou, MP for the Second District of Thessaloniki, also announced his resignation from the party yesterday after a disagreement with the party leader. Papaioannou, like Hurdakis, announced that he will not resign as an MP and will continue to work as an independent MP.

Zoi Konstandopoulou, who had 8 seats in total, thus reduced her number of seats in the parliament to 6.

In the parliamentary elections held in June 2023, the Freedom Cruise Party received 3.17 per cent of the vote and was entitled to be represented in parliament with 8 deputies.
