Pro-Palestine demonstration held in Athens
The gathered crowd expressed strong solidarity with the Palestinian people. A representative from the labor union gave a speech declaring, “We are on the right side of history — we stand with Palestine,” and called for an immediate end to Israel’s attacks on Palestinians.
The speaker also criticized Greece, the European Union (EU), and NATO for failing to protect the Palestinian population.
Chants of “We must stay silent not when children are being killed, but when they are sleeping” echoed through the demonstration. The union representative announced that affiliated teachers would conduct awareness-raising activities in schools to show support for Palestine.
Protesters held signs reading:
“End the Israeli occupation, freedom for Palestine”
“No support for the murderous state of Israel”
The protest was peaceful but charged with emotion, highlighting growing discontent over Greece’s and international institutions' perceived complicity or inaction regarding the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
