Prime Minister Mitsotakis meets with Egyptian President Sisi
It was stated that during the meeting between Prime Minister Mitsotakis and President Sisi, the implementation of the agreements signed between the two countries and regional issues were discussed.
Prime Minister Mitsotakis, in his tweet about the visit and the meeting, said: "We reaffirmed the strategic depth of our countries' relations with the President of the Republic of Egypt Abdel Fattah al-Sisi. I would like to thank Egypt for supporting our country by sending military helicopters to fight forest fires."
Egyptian Presidential Spokesperson Ahmed Fahmy also made a statement on his Facebook account. He stated that Sisi met with Mitsotakis, who is on an official visit to Egypt, in the city of El-Alameyn on the Mediterranean coast.
Fehmi stated that the possibilities of developing bilateral cooperation were discussed during the meeting, adding that Sisi and Mitsotakis emphasised the importance of accelerating the implementation of the memorandum of understanding and agreements signed between the two countries.
The two leaders also discussed regional and international issues, including the fight against illegal migration in the Mediterranean region, the Russia-Ukraine crisis and the Libyan issue.
