Police to implement enhanced traffic measures ahead of May Day

In anticipation of increased traffic on the roads due to May Day, the Hellenic Police will implement enhanced measures from Thursday through Sunday across the country’s entire road network, with the aim of ensuring the safe movement of citizens and preventing and deterring traffic accidents.

In addition to traffic management measures to be implemented at the local level, a ban on all trucks with a maximum permissible weight exceeding 3.5 tonnes will also be in effect.
Specifically, on national highways, for outbound traffic, the truck ban will be in effect on Thursday, 30 April, from 4:00pm to 10:00pm, and on Friday, 1 May, from 8:00am to 1:00pm.
For inbound lanes, the ban will be in effect on Sunday, 3 May, from 11:00 am to 11:00 pm.
